Our Journey Raising Two Children with Special Needs

This blog chronicles our life raising two children, Nicholas 15, diagnosed with Prader-Willi Syndrome and Weston 18, diagnosed with Autism/Asperger's/ADHD. It's the ups, the downs, the joys, the sorrows and most importantly, the beauty of living a life less perfect, a life more meaningful.

Bad Juju

Have you ever had a day when.......

Your yard is filled with snow that seems to never melt, your driveway is a giant mud puddle and the streets are lined with dirty black snow.

Your eldest child decides to yell and scream and pester every living thing in the house just before we leave for school?

Your roof is leaking, there is mold in the attic and the insurance company tells you you're not covered?

Your mother has broncitis and is admitted into the hospital.

You and your sons get the nasty "stomach bug".

You need to coordinate the schedules of 20 people to ensue they come to your son's IEP meeting?

You pay your bills.
And for the first time ever, the mailman came early.

Ugh.

Are there solar flares?

Is mercury retrograde?

Did I step in something nasty?

Whatever the reason I am chalking it up to some Bad JuJu.

I am trying to stay positive and remember the words of the resilient Scarlet O'Hara

Tomorrow is another day.

Or as the brave Dory would say.....

Wow, I hope things calm down for you soon. Are you over the stomach bug now?
I also hope your mother gets better soon!
