Our Journey Raising Two Children with Special Needs

This blog chronicles our life raising two children, Nicholas 15, diagnosed with Prader-Willi Syndrome and Weston 18, diagnosed with Autism/Asperger's/ADHD. It's the ups, the downs, the joys, the sorrows and most importantly, the beauty of living a life less perfect, a life more meaningful.

The Winter of our Discontent

While the rest of the country is delighting in the arrival of Spring with blooming yellow daffodils and fragrant cherry blossoms, stubborn Old Man Winter refuses to leave the New England area.

As Michelle Obama plants her vegetable garden at the White House, we woke up this morning to this...

And this......

And this......

I have lived in the northeast for most of my life, and I cannot recall a winter that was this snowy, this frigid and this long........ever!!!!

Although the calendar does indicate that it is indeed Spring, temperatures here remain in the 30's with no end in sight until sometime in April.

Many of us New Englanders are snow weary. In fact, our yard still has remnants of unmelted snow from our earlier blizzards.

I am longing to see the color return to our environment. I am anxious to feel the warm sun on my face.

Come on Spring..........where are you?
