Our Journey Raising Two Children with Special Needs

This blog chronicles our life raising two children, Nicholas 15, diagnosed with Prader-Willi Syndrome and Weston 18, diagnosed with Autism/Asperger's/ADHD. It's the ups, the downs, the joys, the sorrows and most importantly, the beauty of living a life less perfect, a life more meaningful.

Tornado Destruction in Massachusetts

It appears that three tornadoes touched down in Massachusetts yesterday.

Springfield, a large city in western Massachusetts experienced massive destruction and even death as 4 people lost their lives as a result of these severe storms. The twisters were believed to be either an EF3 or EF4 in their magnitude and level of destruction.

I have lived in Massachusetts most of my life and I have never before experienced this type of severe weather in this part of the country. The cool ocean temperatures of the northeastern seaboard makes it almost impossible for storms like this to occur.

Some incredible footage was caught by a local TV station whose roof top camera caught the twister traveling over the Connecticut river and siphoning water into its funnel.

More videos shot from local home owner's show the size of one of the cyclones.

In terms of the unusual weather patterns and severe storms, it has been a year like none other for this part of the country.

Our thoughts are with all of the families who have suffered because of these tornadoes and to all the families throughout the country who are affected by these deadly storms.

I couldn't believe this when I saw it on the news. Horrible, just horrible. I'm glad to see you are safe and sound. Let's hope this is the end of the crazy weather! My prayers go out to everyone!
