Our Journey Raising Two Children with Special Needs

This blog chronicles our life raising two children, Nicholas 15, diagnosed with Prader-Willi Syndrome and Weston 18, diagnosed with Autism/Asperger's/ADHD. It's the ups, the downs, the joys, the sorrows and most importantly, the beauty of living a life less perfect, a life more meaningful.

The Sounds of Summer

I am already longing to return to Cape Cod.

The beach house where we vacationed had a very large porch that overlooked Wellfleet Harbor. It had a stunning view of the ocean. I would often sit on one of the porch chairs and soak in the beautiful summer sights and breathe in the salty-sweet, cool ocean breezes.

But what I miss most about my time spent on the porch....was the sound of the birds singing in the scraggly pine trees that surrounded us.

This is a Canada Warbler. There were several of these birds who flitted about from branch to branch singing their melodious songs.

It is their songs that I miss most.
