This blog chronicles our life raising two children, Nicholas 15, diagnosed with Prader-Willi Syndrome and Weston 18, diagnosed with Autism/Asperger's/ADHD. It's the ups, the downs, the joys, the sorrows and most importantly, the beauty of living a life less perfect, a life more meaningful.

Irene Approaches

We have begun to feel the first effects of Hurricane Irene as heavy bands of rain have started to fall. The air is soupy and tropical with winds just starting to blow. There is occassional rumblings of thunder and although it is 9 am.....it is still very dark outside.

The Chief of Police in our area called every home (via their latest emergency instant phone messaging) and cautioned all residents to stay off of the roads.
