Our Journey Raising Two Children with Special Needs

This blog chronicles our life raising two children, Nicholas 15, diagnosed with Prader-Willi Syndrome and Weston 18, diagnosed with Autism/Asperger's/ADHD. It's the ups, the downs, the joys, the sorrows and most importantly, the beauty of living a life less perfect, a life more meaningful.

The Wind

Thankfully for us, Irene has been downgraded to a Tropical Storm. The torrential rains have now stopped. The gusty winds are starting to pick up. When the wind gusts it makes a roaring sound as it passes over our home. The gusts seem to come from way up in the heavens, easily blowing trees from side to side.

Our front yard and driveway is littered with fallen leaves and branches.

Further down our drive, a small tree has fallen. Thankfully it fell parallel to our driveway. One of its smaller branches falling onto the ground.

The ground here in New England is really saturated from all the rain we received in August. I don't know if you can see in the picture, but there is a hole in the ground behind the tree. This is the wet ground where it snapped from. As you can see, this is a young healthy tree.
