Our Journey Raising Two Children with Special Needs

This blog chronicles our life raising two children, Nicholas 15, diagnosed with Prader-Willi Syndrome and Weston 18, diagnosed with Autism/Asperger's/ADHD. It's the ups, the downs, the joys, the sorrows and most importantly, the beauty of living a life less perfect, a life more meaningful.

Dancin' Machine

All week long Weston has been anxiously awaiting the dance.

It is finally Friday and my young son is ready for this important rite of passage.

He has carefully selected his wardrobe.
He has showered...twice!
He applied sweet smelling underarm deodorant.
He put on a Comcast music station and practiced his moves to a variety of hip hop, hard rock and popular favorites.
He selected Dad as his chauffeur for the evening.
He reluctantly allowed me to take a few quick photos before leaving....

Ready to go

Some practice moves before leaving

He is ready!

I am not!

Will let you all know how it goes.....

How exciting for him! I came from a family of 5 that didn't believe in "dancing". (rolling eyes) I was the baby of the family and the first one allowed to go to a dance. Oh the excitement hahhahahah!

Mine are 10 and 12....my time is coming. (we homeschool but I'm sure there will be some dance opportunities in our future)

Thank you all for your encouragement.
Yes, Over Yonder, it is exciting and brings back so many memories of my own first dances too. My parents weren't too thrilled either. Your children are similar ages, we have alot in common.
